if dubas can find a way to keep barrie, he will.

i think he would ice a team of 18 interchangeable rovers if he could.

Game plan ...

IF Rielly is coming back healthy ...
IF Sandin is the real deal and here to stay ...

then

Barrie to X for Rielly's new D partner; or
Barrie to X for picks/prospects; and
Picks/Prospects to X for Rielly's new D partner

Rielly-NewGuy
Muzzin-Holl
Sandin-Ceci/Dermott

Then there will again be peace. I have spoken

That's a good deal for us.. I'm shocked the Rangers are only asking for Nylander.

Habs don't want Barrie (right now).

Dallas? Avs? Flames?

No. Three games of Petry and you'll want 52 back in the lineup. Trust me. We can do a lot better than that.

So, if all goes well and our boys look to be play-off bound when 44 comes back, who do you think comes out of our D? I'll bet 23. He's still got a ways to go to be a full timer.

I think 52 never sees the ice again.

My guess

44 - 94
8 - 3
23 - 83

Ya, Sandin and Dermott and Ceci can share time until someone grabs the jobs.

The real question comes IF the Leafs go get another d'man.

Wouldn't surprise me if they go 11 forwards and 7 d-men in some playoff games (assuming they make it)

look it how they play.

dmen don't just pinch, they set-up shop down low in the ozone.

a lot more is expected of forwards coming back in transition.

Sandin will absolutely be better than Dermott. I think he has a higher ceiling and plays a much calmer and smarter game. Dermott is still good, despite some of his more obvious gaffes in the last few weeks or so.

Sandin is still playing sheltered minutes largely, and limited, too.

If he is anointed Lidstrom v2 he can only disappoint you.

Dermott has played sheltered mins his whole career. He was trusted slightly harder mins the last few weeks and he failed miserably.
